Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Doctors Online: Telehealth Evaluations & Renewals

Since January 1, 2026, SB 1066 (2025) requires every recommending physician to complete OMMA-approved medical marijuana education and to be registered with the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority before signing a recommendation; OMMA rejects applications signed by unregistered physicians. Dr. Johnathan Miller, MD, who conducts Oklahoma visits on MMJ.com, is licensed by the Oklahoma State Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision and registered with OMMA.

A 15-minute audio-visual video visit under OMMA's telemedicine standard (OAC 442:10-3-1). Oklahoma has no fixed list of qualifying conditions, so Dr. Miller evaluates your condition and history and decides whether medical marijuana is appropriate under accepted standards of care. If so, he signs the OMMA Adult Patient License Recommendation Form.

Thirty days from the date the physician signs it. You must submit your patient license application on the OMMA MedPortal (the portal that replaced the Thentia system on October 28, 2025) within that window, or you will need a new recommendation.

The patient license fee is $100 for a two-year license, or $20 for patients who document SoonerCare (Medicaid), Medicare, or 100 percent disabled veteran status, plus a small online processing fee at checkout. OMMA processes applications in about 14 business days. The $149.99 MMJ.com physician visit is separate.

An Oklahoma driver's license or state ID, a separate proof of Oklahoma residency (utility bill, lease, or mortgage statement, which OMMA also requires with the application), a current passport-style photo for the MedPortal upload, and a list of your current medications and diagnoses.
