New Jersey Medical Marijuana Doctors Online: Telehealth Evaluations & Renewals

New Jersey evaluations on MMJ.com are conducted by Dr. Rajashree Kantha, MD, a Family Medicine physician licensed by the New Jersey State Board of Medical Examiners and registered with the Cannabis Regulatory Commission (NJ-CRC) as a health care practitioner. The Jake Honig Act allows physicians, physician assistants, and advanced practice nurses to certify patients.

Electronically. After the 15-minute audio-visual video visit, Dr. Kantha transmits the Patient Certification directly to the NJ-CRC patient registry; there is no PDF for you to upload. The NJ-CRC emails you when the certification has posted, and your Patient Registration ID is then issued or renewed in the patient portal.

No state fee for the digital Patient Registration ID; the NJ-CRC eliminated patient registration fees in March 2024. A physical card is optional at $10. The $149.99 MMJ.com practitioner visit is the only required cost.

The practitioner certification is issued for a period the practitioner sets, up to one year, while the NJ-CRC Patient Registration ID runs two years. In practice that means an annual video visit with Dr. Kantha and an administrative registration renewal in the portal every other year.

A New Jersey driver's license or state ID (or other proof of New Jersey residency), your existing NJ-CRC Patient Registration ID if you are renewing, and records or a clear history of the qualifying condition under N.J.S.A. 24:6I-3. Records help the practitioner but are not required by the NJ-CRC for the certification itself.
